To infuse the community with opportunities to discover the works of Johann Sebastian Bach. To foster transformational experiences through music.

The Grand Rapids Bach Festival was founded as a three-day event in 1997 by notable mezzo-soprano Linn Maxwell Keller. Having performed in Bach festivals she understood their impact nationwide, yet initially she envisioned simply a one-time Bach celebration in West Michigan. With early success and under the guidance of Maxwell Keller, combined with dedicated volunteers, the Festival grew into a weeklong celebration, and more. The Festival is presented biennially, engaging and inspiring a variety of community partnerships, educational opportunities, family events and performances by professional musicians.
